Aspen Valley Hospital.
Founded in 1891, Aspen Valley Hospital (AVH) is one of the most sophisticated critical access hospitals in the country. The numerous accolades and awards earned are a tribute to the tradition of high-tech and high-touch care. Today AVH manages over 80,000 patient encounters each year in its network of care across the Aspen region.
The Approach.
Designing a content heavy site can be a great challenge. People like short, concise information that answers the questions on the spot, and choosing whether they want to know more. The challenge with the AVH site was to create a digestible experience that provides the user with a rich content experience while still allowing the ease of finding emergency services, doctors and care on-demand. All while driving the AVH brand with strong visuals and accent colors.
Care to search.
AVH is a large network of care spanning across multiple facilities within the Aspen, Snowmass Village and Basalt area. A robust and easy-to-navigate care finder was crucial to the usability of the site. Clean typography, expandable content, sub-categories, micro-interactions and healthy white space all contributed to the design.
Healthy Living.
In addition to care services, the Healthy Living Blog is a significant extension of the AVH community. It features a wealth of topics and tools such as classes & events, articles, news, updates and announcements. The design needed to feel like it was still part of the main site experience, yet distinguished enough to immerse the user in an editorial experience.
